Simon Cowell spends two hours in make up

Simon Cowell spends two hours getting his make-up done.

The music mogul is renowned for being vain and taking great care in his appearance and now his brother Tony has revealed he likes to look his best whenever he steps in front of the TV cameras.

Writing in his column for Star magazine, Tony said of a picture of him in Simon's dressing room: "This, by the way, is me in his Lordship's dressing room - where he normally spends at least two hours in make-up!"

Simon is set to appear on TV screens a lot over the coming months as he launches the US version of 'The X Factor' and is set to return to the judging panel for the live shows of 'Britain's Got Talent', which Tony believes will be a ratings hit.

He said of the show: "We all miss Simon. of course - though some people have forgotten that he is coming back for the live shows at the end of May. Just watch the viewing figures go through the roof then! I can't wait to see the audience's reaction when he steps out onto the stage."

Simon, 51, has made no secret of the fact he takes great pride in his appearance and has previously said he thinks having Botox is as normal as brushing his teeth.

He said: "Of course I have had it. I mean, for me, it's like cleaning my teeth, you know? Something makes your teeth whiter or something stops you having lines."
