"It really bothers Lily that her record company make her out to be a crazy party girl. It couldn't be further from the truth," says a friend.

"Lily's a pretty quiet girl when you get to know her. She's happy just to go to the pub with her friends or stay at home with her mum or dad."

Lily, who topped the charts with Smile, is so keen to rebrand herself that she has taken to posting heartfelt messages on her internet profile and while on her American tour, wrote: "My mum has come out here to keep me company and I feel much better now."
