Snooker legend Willie voted off Strictly Come Dancing

Snooker legend Willie Thorne is the latest celebrity to be voted off Strictly Come Dancing.

Thorne and ex-soccer star John Barnes were the bottom two following the public vote. It was then left to the judges to decide which celebrity was axed.

In Saturday night's show Judge Bruno Tonioli had told Thorne his dancing style resembled "a polar bear in the Sahara".

Head judge Len Goodman, who awarded him six out of ten, said: "Impeccable footwork. I looked at your feet and there were no balls when there should have been heels.

"Your posture, it's all those years of popping the green... it will get better, of course it will."

But on Sunday night's elimination show, all four judges elected for Willie to walk after he failed to impress them in the dance-off with Barnes.

Thorne and dance partner Erin Boag had danced the tango, while Barnes had elected for the jive.

The competition continues next week when the couples will perform either the American Smooth or the Samba.
