Spice Girls fuel rumours of bitter rift as they travel separately and 'check into different hotels'

The Spice Girls have further fuelled rumours of mounting tension between the group after they arrived at Toronto airport yesterday in separate SUVs.

The quintet, who were regularly spotted travelling together at the beginning of the tour, appear to have abandoned their efforts to present a united front.

A glum Victoria Beckham had her son Cruz for company, with Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell also resuming mother duties.

The situation has now become so dire, they can no longer stand to be under the same roof, according to reports.

The girls have allegedly insisted on being in different hotels for the last leg of their Canadian tour.

An insider told The Mirror: "They usually stay in the same hotel, but that's changed.

The insider claims the feud is most bitter between Mel B and Mel C.

The group cited family commitments as their reason for cutting the tour short - final performance will take place on 26 February – but there are persistent rumours infighting was the real cause.

The source added: "All this talk of family and solo careers seems far fetched. As far as I'm concerned, the bickering is the issue."
