Sugababes ditch sweet-girl look for sexy couture makeover

Having outgrown their trademark girl-next-door look, the trio has opted for a more sophisticated and mature style, hiring a team of stylists to help reinvent themselves for the promotion of their latest album.

A source told the Daily Star: "The Babes were keen to do something more mature on this video.

"They're no longer girls, they're ladies now.

"The influences range from golden age of Hollywood glamour to vintage Chanel. But overall I would say it's Elizabethan style meets haute couture."

The makeover comes after a gruelling year for the girls, especially for troubled singer Amelle Berrabah.

Amelle's bandmates Keisha Buchanan and Heidi Range, have so far stood by Amelle, who as been at the centre of a number of highly-publicised incidents since joining girl-band in 2006.

Amelle was arrested earlier this month after allegedly vandalising a woman's car.

She was held after it was claimed a feud with a neighbour at her sister Laila's home erupted into a heated row.

Haute couture: Heidi takes inspiration from the news

Amelle, 23, who denied the claim, was questioned for four hours at a police station and bailed to return to the police station next month.

In Decemember last year, Amelle's boyfriend Freddie Fuller, 25, was left for dead in an horrific machete attack. He is still recovering in hospital from the incident which took place on Christmas Eve.

Before that Freddie was cleared of allegations of raping Amelle's sister Samiya, 20. And another sister Zakiya, 34, was accused of stealing cash and credit cards from patients and colleagues at the hospital where she worked.

Denial, taken from the album Change, is out on March 17th 2008.
