Super size zero Renee Zellweger wastes away

Dressed as Playboy bunnygirl in hit film Bridget Jones, Renee Zellweger won the hearts of film-lovers worldwide - but since then she's become a shadow of her former voluptuous self.

The once shapely actress used to fill out Bridget's iconic "big pants" so well, she even made a sequel to the much-loved film.

However, her apparent obsession with being part of the size zero club, along with fellow actress, Sex in the City star Sarah Jessica Parker, has seen her lose all her curves.

Wearing her signature strapless cocktail dress, Renee revealed her bony frame, complete with weird pointy 'nobbles' on her shoulders, sinewy arms, and colt-like legs, topped off with a doll-like head that seemed way too big for her tiny body.

Renee, 38, and Sarah, 42 were seen deep in conversation for 10 minutes after a film party. Maybe they were swopping tips on how to maintain their fat-free figures.

The evolution of Zellweger's rail-thin silhouette is reported to be a result of daily two-hour workouts and 12-mile hikes in the Hollywood Hills.

Her painfully thin look is a dramatic about-turn for the star who famously had to gain two stone for role in Bridget Jone's Diary and the 2004 sequel The Edge of Reason.

At the time she said: "One doughnut does not do a thing. You've got to eat 20 a day for at least five weeks to get results."

Let's hope Bridget Jones author Helen Fielding starts work on a new instalment immediately, before Renee disappears altogether!
