Senior citizen: the TV host said the makeover made her looked just like her mother

Plastic surgeons dressed the 45-year-old in a full body suit and applied a prosthetic mask complete with wrinkles and crows feet to her face.

When Susannah caught a glimpse of what she would look like in 25 years she reacted with horror, saying: "I look just like my mother."

"My heart is going at 100 miles per hour. There is no way I'm going to look like this when I'm 70 because I will not dress like this, I will not have hair like this, I will not allow my face to become like this.

Ageing gracefully: experts spent almost 100 hours on Susannah's look

"It is so depressing. I am horrified by it all."

The "ageing" process required her to sit in a body-and-face cast for four hours while experts spent almost 100 hours working on the fine detail of the face.

The show's aim was to help her conquer her fears of growing old.

Wearing it well: Susannah made up to look 70

She said: "I am petrified of getting old so I think it's going to be very important for me to somehow see the world from the eyes of someone who is 70."

Trinny, 43, claimed she was more relaxed about the ageing process, saying: "I do everything I can to fight it and I feel 25 anyway."

Yet when she was shown a graphic of how she might look at 70, her view changed. She said: "I must never go in the sun again."
