Take That and pole dance: Howard shows off his raunchy moves after recovering from injury

Take That star Howard Donald defied a recent serious lung injury to wow hundreds of screaming female fans at the group's London gig last night.

Howard gyrated energetically around a pole, despite being hospitalised after suffering a collapsed lung in Austria a few weeks ago, forcing him to drop out of the European leg of the group's tour.

Gravity-defying: Howard Donald came back with a bang as he gyrated energetically around a pole onstage at the O2 theatre during Take That's London show last night

Donald's mid-air splits and pole swinging antics were just one of the highlights of the foursome's sizzling display.

But he showed no signs of suffering as he took charge of the pole in head-turning routine.

Prancing around a burlesque set at the 02 Arena, the four lads turned up the heat as they shared the stage with a troop of scantily clad dancers, including Gary's dancer wife Dawn.

Back for good: The group are playing to packed houses on their sell-out comeback tour

The group are enjoying something of a renaissance arrived for last night's concert in style - cruising along the Thames to Greenwich in a boat.

They will also be using the £2 million vessel to travel to and from the rest of their eight shows at the O2.

"It's certainly a luxurious way to go to work," said Mark Owen.

Their Beautiful World tour ends in Manchester on 23 December, but the boys will return to the O2 on New Year's Eve to host the the ultimate New Year's Eve party, broadcast live on ITV1.

Take That play the 02 Arena, tonight, tomorrow and December 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 and 31. 0871 984 0002

And their raunchy stage show has wowed their many female fans
