The mother of all makeovers: How Mama Rooney lost SEVEN stone in time for son Wayne's wedding to Coleen

By anyone's standards it is the most extraordinary transformation. The heavy-set woman photographed lumbering out of the sea in 2003 has gone.

Step forward the new Jeanette Rooney, just in time for her son Wayne's £3million wedding.

Pictured at the weekend at the hen night of her soon to be daughter-in-law Coleen McLoughlin, Mrs Rooney, 41, has lost an incredible seven stone.

On top of that she's looking incredibly well groomed.

So how on earth has she transformed herself so dramatically from the woman pictured on holiday in Mexico five years ago?

Dr Alex Karadis, a leading plastic surgeon, says: "It's clear that Jeanette has lost a lot of weight all over and she's done very well - this may or may not be a result of surgery. Her TUMMY looks very flat.

If she's lost the weight naturally, she probably has a lot of excess skin around her middle, and so would need a corset to achieve the flat stomach effect in the photograph.

"However, she could also have opted for a tummy tuck - which involves making an incision from hip to hip just above the pubic area, removing fat and skin.

"On the other hand, Jeanette may have had a gastric band fitted. This reduces the size of the stomach, allowing less food to be consumed."

Mrs Rooney will want to look her best among the perma-tanned Wags at the ceremony in Italy in June and wedding party afterwards.

However Dr Karidis said: "She's still got a few rough edges that could be smoothed out with surgery. Despite her weight loss, she still looks older than her 41 years - I'd have put her at 48 or 49 - and the condition of her SKIN looks to me like she's probably a smoker.

"I'd say she's possibly had some surgery though. If you look at her BREASTS they should have sagged as Jeanette lost weight. But they seem quite perky, and she may have had small implants and a slight breast lift.

"The place she could really do with some work is on her ARMS. The skin there is definitely a little ragged and loose.

"It would depend on her skin quality as to what surgery would be appropriate but I would either recommend liposuction or an arm lift, where a tiny incision is made on the inner part of the arm to lift up the excess skin."

Dr Karidis says Mrs Rooney could do more to improve her FACE.

He said: "If she is a smoker, it has doubled the damage done to her skin by every day things such as sun exposure.

"When you couple that with weight loss - which can affect the elasticity of the skin - you start to get really saggy and lined skin.

"You can see this on Jeanette's face, and around her neck. She could do with some Botox there."

Hair colourist Jo Hansford said: "Jeanette looks fantastic. I'd still put her at a bit older than 41 but she looks so much better."

She said of her HAIR: "Her old look was really bad. The two-tone hair she was sporting is so passÈ. It was the ugliest look ever and it didn't suit anyone.

"Her hair now is much better. The length is flattering on her jawline - which is quite strong - and it's a nice, soft, simple bob.

"She's gone for a good all-over honey blond colour which is soft and really suits her skin tone."

Sarah Brock, artistic director of MAKE-UP for Daniel Sandler, said: "Jeanette's new makeup makes her look much younger. She's using a medium-coverage foundation which covers any redness and evens her skin tone. A light reflecting concealer has been used to lighten and brighten the EYE AREA.

"By using a pretty shimmery light eyeshadow on her brow bone, it makes the brow appear more lifted and by lining the eyes with a dark brown colour, it really makes her blue eye colour 'pop'!

"She is using eyelash curlers and a lengthening, glossy mascara to make her LASHES appear thicker and longer and the peach colour on the apple of her cheeks and on her LIPS further complements her blue eyes."
