Three's company! Linda Lusardi holidays with her husband... and Dancing On Ice partner Daniel

After a long run on Dancing On Ice, Linda Lusardi escaped to Florida for a little rest and relaxation with her husband.

But a surprising extra guest tagged along too - her 31-year-old professional skating partner, Daniel Whiston.

The 49-year-old former Emmerdale star has become so attached to him that not only has he moved in to the home she shares with her husband, actor Sam Kane, 39, but he has also just been on holiday to Disneyland with the couple and their two children Lucy, 11, and Jack, 8.

Speaking to Hello! magazine Linda explained: "Dan lives in Blackpool and we had to train six days a week, so there was no way he could commute.

"Sam and I live in a large house with a spare bedroom, so moving Dan in seemed the obvious solution."

The arrangement has not caused a fuss within her marriage, she insists.

"Sam and I are secure in our relationship.

The three were photographed for this week's issue of Hello!

"He's seen me kissing Jimmy King in Emmerdale, for instance, and he understands that was required by the script. Sam knows the score. He went to drama school."

For his part, Sam added: "I'll never be able to thank Dan enough for the journey he's helped Linda through. Without him she wouldn't have got nearly as far as she did.

"He always makes her smile and to see Linda smile is the best tonic I can ever be given.

"He has become closer than a friend; the guy has become like family. Every family should have a Dan."

Linda and her family are already talking about re-visiting Florida in the summer.

In the meantime she and Dan will go straight back in to training for the Dancing on Ice tour that begins in Sheffield on 4 April.

"I can't wait," says Linda.

"It's no exaggeration to say that being involved in Dancing on Ice has been a life-changing experience; I've adored every minute.

"To be taught such a beautiful skill and wear those fabulous costumes... it's been exhilarating from start to finish."

And it appears Dan is really settling into the family, saying: "Linda and Sam don't know it yet but I'm planning to handcuff myself to the fridge. I'm not going anywhere."

Hello magazine is on sale now.
