Star Wars beauty Portman is a member of this year's jury, which is headed by U.S. actor Sean Penn and also includes Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban director Alfonso Cuaron.
Portman has been a daily figure on the red carpet since the Cannes Film Festival began last week and has kept up red carpet style with a daily dose of couture.
In better suiting to her youth, Portman cut a stunning figure in the fun, multi-tiered ruffled dress with bronze strappy stilettos and droplet earrings.
The English Patient star Scott Thomas, who is fluent in French after spending many years living in the country, chose the same colour, but went for added glamour with a sweeping train.
Standing at 5'6" tall, Scott Thomas chose some sky-high matching Indigo platforms to give her added height for her lengthy gown.

Lady in black: Gwyneth Paltrow cuts a striking figure
After a red carpet tour around Europe promoting Iron Man last month, it seemed Gwyneth Paltrow still had some energy left to step out in yet another pair of sky-high stilettos at a screening of her new movie Two Lovers on Monday evening.
The mother-of-two walked up the carpet with her date, Italian designer Valentino, in a black satin gown with plunging neckline and buckled satin heels.
Gwyneth was joined at the première by the film's director James Gray and hip-hop mogul Sean 'P Diddy' Combs.

She was joined by U.S. soap actress Tonya Kinzinger, who attracted attention in a slashed-to-the-naval grey gown.

While the actress let their flamboyant dresses do the talking on the red carpet, kung fu legend Jackie Chan made sure he made a lasting impression with a martial arts display on the steps of the Palais.
The actor, who is at the festival to promote his new film Kung Fu Panda, brought along his two new protégées Fengchao Liu and Wenjie Wang, star of the upcoming Chinese drama Wushu, which Chan is producing.
