TV presenter Lowri Turner announces split from husband No. 2
06 July 2007
The former DIY SOS star said she felt it would have been dishonest not to tell readers of the Western Mail of the parting, having "made such a song and dance on this page about meeting and marrying husband number two", whom she does not name, in December 2005.
She said: "I can't keep the secret forever anyway. A reporter from a well-known tabloid has already been making inquiries.
"Such is the downside of even Z-list celebrity. I can feel the quills of the gossip columnists being sharpened.
"Fortunately, I have more pressing concerns, like how to get through the day without weeping into the washing up.
"How do I feel? Embarrassed, humiliated, hurt, angry, sad, guilty, confused. You can take your pick on any given day. Mostly, I just feel sad. I worry about my children."
The Wright Stuff panellist said of her family: "We're just getting on with things.
"There are breakfasts to be made, school sports kits to be washed, homework to be done and bedtime stories to be read, as well as, in my case, articles to be written and TV shows to be made.
"So, if you see me smiling on telly, don't be fooled. On the surface I may seem fine and some of the time I am - work is brilliant therapy - but underneath the emotional waterline, my feet are going like billy-o."
