Watch out you stars! This Is Your Life is back

Legendary television show This Is Your Life will return to our screens this summer.

However, it will not be on the BBC, but instead has been bought up by rivals ITV - four years after it was sensationally axed by the Beeb.

The first celebrity "victim" will be surprised this weekend, and while we know who it is, we have been sworn to secrecy.

Our red-book-bearing pal reveals: "The show was immensely popular in its day but the ratings began to fall and it was seen as being out of date. But a group of TV chiefs have decided to bring it back because they reckon it could once again prove to be a very watched programme."

Guest have already been invited to the top-secret shows, which sees the presenter reading from a big, red book a biography of the life of a celebrity or public figure.

However, while we are aware of a selection of A-listers who will feature this summer, we cannot print them for fears that they will not turn up to be humiliated in front of their close friends, family and colleagues.

"There is a whole secrecy issue with the series," confessed our source.

"The invitees are sworn to secrecy and have only been invited a matter of days before the filming takes place so there is little time for them to blab to the celeb in question.

"It is the only way that the producers can ensure that they get a proper reaction from the guest, so they have been keeping as much of a mystery around it as they possibly can but they are not finding it easy."

This Is Your Life has featured Muhammad Ali, The Bee Gees, Spike Milligan, Barbara Windsor, Frankie Howerd, David Jason and more recently comic Frank Skinner.
