Fans have rallied behind Lily Allen
"I felt like it didn't matter if I was a bit chubby 'cause I'm not a model, I'm a singer.
"I'm afraid I am not strong and have fallen victim to the evil machine. I write to you in a sea of tears from my hotel bed in Seattle. I have spent the past hour researching gastric bypass surgery and laser liposuction."
Hundreds of fans have bombarded Allen's site with messages of support.
One fan summed up the mood when she wrote: "Lily you're great as you are."
The singer recently launched her own range of clothes for High Street chain New Look.
Asked about supermodel Kate Moss's rival collection for Topshop, Allen said: "I don't think I'd fit in them. All my dresses are super-girlie but that doesn't mean you have to be a size zero. The more curves the better. Fashion is for everyone, not just superskinny models."
The singer is currently in the U.S. to play a series of gigs.
