Whole lotta money paid for Led Zep ticket stubs

Led Zeppelin fans are paying up to £125 for ticket stubs from the band's reunion gig at the O2.

One seller wrote on eBay: "I was one of the lucky ones.

"This is the ticket from the show 20 million wanted to see."

Another concert goer said he saw touts paying £20 for ticket stubs and wristbands after the gig where Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones played together for the first time in decades.

Tony McLearie, 44, told a national newspaper: "It was bizarre - now I know why. But there's no way I'd sell, no matter how much I was offered."

The rush for souvenirs means the ticket stubs are now selling for the same value as the tickets themselves.

Fans of the rockers had to enter an online ballot in a bid to get one of the 20,000 tickets available for the show.

25 million people logged onto the site in a rush, sending the venue's computers into meltdown with an incredible 100,000 hits a minute.

The rockers performed on November 26 in honour of Ahmet Ertegun, who died last year aged 63. Ertegun founded Atlantic Records and had a hand in all their careers.

While the band rocked the world of their fans, their rider of caffeine-free herbal tea and sparkling water was at odds with their previous requests for a constant supply of vodka and champagne.

Formed in 1968, the band sold more than 300 million albums in their hey-day and are thought to have earned £2.25million for their most recent one-off gig.

And while it was a night to remember for thousands of Led Zeppelin fans, it will probably stick in supermodel Naomi Campbell's mind for all the wrong reasons.

The 37-year-old was left shaken after an over-zealous fan tried to rip the VIP security pass from around her neck after the gig.
