Why wrinkly balding Brad is looking the pits

Time seems to have finally caught up with Hollywood heartthrob Brad Pitt – as our remarkable pictures of the suddenly greying and balding superstar show.

But don't be too alarmed ladies. The actor hasn't been suddenly struck down by a rampant ageing illness that's forever robbed him of his legendary good looks.

Rather, the 43-year-old was pictured in Los Angeles this week in full make up as a frail and hairless man - on the set of his new film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

More follows...

Brad (left) going grey for his new film role, before taking the look a stage further by sporting a Britney Spears-style bald dome.

Brad stars in the title role – about a man who is born in his eighties and then ages backwards.

The film sees the star's 10-month-old baby daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt make her movie debut.

A set insider said: "Brad and Shiloh saved the day when twin sisters hired to take turns playing actress Cate Blanchett's character as a baby wouldn't settle down.

"Everyone waited in vain while the babies were fed, changed and hugged - but nothing worked to calm them. Then Brad realised his daughter's happy and mellow disposition made her a quick fix for the role."
