Wild-eyed Doherty in water attack hours after court

Barefoot and wild-eyed, Pete Doherty attacked a photographer just hours after a judge praised him for trying to kick drugs.

The Babyshambles frontman threw a bucket of ice-cold water over snapper Oliver Polter in a fit of rage — and narrowly avoided soaking girlfriend Kate Moss as she arrived home.

The erratic singer was alone at Moss's St John's Wood home when he snapped and tipped the water over the shocked photographer.

Just hours earlier, Doherty, 28, won approval at a review of his drug treatment order at Thames Magistrates' Court.

District Judge Jane McIvor said: "There's no obligation for you to turn up to the reviews. The fact you've turned up shows co-operation and there is no risk of you breaching this order."

Doherty hinted that Moss, 33, had given him an ultimatum over his drug use. He said: "The people I'm closest to have had enough. They've said it's drugs or them."

Outside the court there was no sign of the outburst that was to come later, as Doherty signed autographs for fans and strummed his guitar for waiting journalists.
