X Factor meets Pop Idol in double act

Two-time X Factor contestant John Wilding will make his West End debut with first Pop Idol runner up Gareth Gates.

They will sing as Cain and Abel in the Children of Eden, a two-act play with music and lyrics by Wicked's Stephen Schwartz.

It is being revived for a charity gala at the Prince of Wales Theatre on January 29.

The 18-year-old was the only hopeful to reach the X Factor judges' house twice, but never the live TV final.

"I am more excited than ever," said Wilding. "I can't wait to make my debut with such an amazing cast."
