Yellow carpet rolled out for the Simpson's premiere at the D'oh 2 centre

The O2 Centre became the D'oh2 Centre and the yellow carpet was rolled out for the British premiere of The Simpsons Movie.

A small corner of London became Springfield, America, for one night only as celebrities turned out in force to see Homer and his family make their big screen debut.

Guests entered through a giant sculpture of Homer's mouth as saxophonists played The Simpsons theme tune. Doughnut-loving dad Homer and son Bart were guests of honour.

Guests included boy-band McFly, actor Joshua Jackson, Vic Reeves and wife Nancy Sorrell, Gail Porter and daughter Honey, and TV's Richard Madeley and Judy Finnegan with their daughter Chloe.

The chat show hosts even had their own cardboard cut-out and keep Simpson's characters to pose alongside.

Homer has become an unlikely hero - in 2003, he beat Abraham Lincoln to be named the Greatest Ever American in a BBC poll, while Time magazine named The Simpsons the best television show of the 20th century.

Last week's world premiere took place in Springfield, Vermont. The town was chosen ahead of 13 other real-life Springfields to host the event.
