AC Milan v Liverpool: We've been here before

THE betting industry estimated their losses on the 2005 final in Istanbul between Liverpool and AC Milan at around £2 million. Had Liverpool won at 90 minutes, would have been double that.

The match attracted a worldwide television audience of three billion people in 200 countries.

ON the last two occasions when Liverpool have won the European Cup, against Roma in the Italian capital in 1984 and in Istanbul, it was decided on penalties.

AC Milan have won the European Cup six times, the last occasion on penalties against Juventus at Old Trafford in 2003. Liverpool have been kings of Europe five times.
