AC Milan: We still want Ronaldinho

AC Milan are ready to battle it out with Chelsea for Ronaldinho if Barcelona put the striker up for sale.

The Italians have been chasing the Brazilian all summer and were ready to pay £43m to sign him if they had not been rebuffed.

Italian interest: Ronaldinho is still a target for Milan

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has consistently told admirers that they would have to meet the £85m buy-out clause in the forward's contract to sign him.

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani said: "It was clearly impossible to lure Ronaldinho in this transfer window. Our business is done for now, but we will have to see in future.

"I still believe that Barca may sell him at some stage. If they do put him up for sale we will try."
