Agent urges Ronaldo: Get Real and stay at Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo has been urged by his agent Jorge Mendes not to hand in a transfer request at Manchester United in his quest to join Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Mendes, who is arguably the most influential agent in the game, does not want the Portuguese winger to "force the issue" with United as he also has Anderson and Nai on his books.
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is adament Ronaldo will not leave the club but if he does it could affect Mendes' relationship with the European champions and the agent cannot afford to have limited influence at Old Trafford, according to The Independent.
Under questioning: Cristiano Ronaldo at a press conference yesterday.
However United are understood to believe Mendes considers it is in Ronaldo's own interest to stay at Old Trafford as long as they deliver the pay increase the winger is seeking, which is thought to be around £120,000 per week.
Ronaldo made his first appearance at a European Championship press conference yesterday but the player refused to discuss a possible switch to Real.
In a bid to discover the 23-year-old's destination next season, he asked whether fish and chips or paella was his favourite seafood.
"Bacalhau," replied Ronaldo, a traditional Portuguese dish of salted cod fish.
Real are reportedly ready to send their sporting director Predrag Mijatovic to Manchester with a proposed £60m bid.
But Ronaldo is understood to be planning three weeks' holiday after Euro 2008 as the transfer saga looks set to continue over the summer.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo international team-mate Deco is close to agreeing terms with Chelsea to complete a £10m move from Barcelona, and join his current national coach, Luiz Felipe Scolari, at Stamford Bridge.
