Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp has already declared an interest in the former West Ham favourite, while Tottenham made their move this week by launching a £15million raid for Benayoun and team-mate Peter Crouch.

Benayoun said: 'I need to know what is going on because I thought I would be at Liverpool next season.'
