Al Pacino knocks out Joe Calzaghe

Joe Calzaghe, who's been insisting here all week that his head could never be turned by the celebrity lifestyle of Las Vegas, looks like a star-struck kid as he meets one of his great idols, Al Pacino.

The boxer delayed training for an hour on the off chance he would meet Pacino at the premiere for the actor's new film, 88 minutes, but didn't stay for the screening.

Pacino said: "I told him I'm a great admirer. He's an amazing fighter. I've watched him fight three or four times and I've been in awe of his skill and courage."

Calzaghe said: "I just couldn't pass up a chance to meet Al. I've always been a fan of his."
