Albion in the money as prized duo leave

West Bromwich have banked £11.3million after finally off-loading Diomansy Kamara and Jason Koumas to Premier League clubs.

Albion agreed to sell Senegal striker Kamara to Fulham for £6m and Koumas to Wigan for £5.3m, accepting 'head-turning' offers that ended six weeks of speculation.

Both fees eclipse the previous record transfer fee received of £5m, and the club's bankers could be happier still if sales of defenders Paul Robinson, Paul McShane and Curtis Davies go through.

Chairman Jeremy Peace said: "We have maintained all along that we would only consider selling players like Diomansy and Jason if we received head-turning offers that were in the club's best interests."
