Amy Weaver granted permission to become youngest lady trainer

Amy Weaver, a former assistant to Michael Bell, has become the youngest lady licence holder in the country after being granted permission to train from Marlborough House Stables in Newmarket.
At 26, Weaver is only the second youngest handler in Newmarket, however, as Simon Callaghan is two years her junior.
Set for stardom: Amy Weaver joins the training ranks
Earlier this year, she joined Andrew Reid as an assistant with a view to taking over the licence at London's sole training establishment but things didn't work out as planned.
Weaver recently completed a trainer's course at the British Racing School in Newmarket and has set up at her newly refurbished base which has 10 boxes and was the former home of Don Cantillon.
She said: 'I got my licence last week and have started as a salaried trainer to River Racing, which is a new venture. I am also a public handler and hope to have my first runner towards the end of this week.'
Reflecting on her time in London she added: 'I spent two months with Andrew in London but things didn't really work out. It feels good to be back in Newmarket and Michael Bell and Henry Cecil have already said I can work my horses with theirs.'
