Andorra hardman Sonejee relishing the return of Rooney battle

Clash: Rooney and Sonejee

Andorra hardman Oscar Sonejee has warned England striker Wayne Rooney to expect another rough time in Barcelona on Saturday.

The pair had a running battle when the sides clashed 18 months ago.

Rooney was booked and hauled off in the 3-0 win by then boss Steve McClaren in the European Championship qualifier.

And Sonejee has vowed to get stuck into Rooney when England start their World Cup qualifying campaign.

Sonejee told The Sun: 'Rooney was using the F word then said ‘I’m a star player’ and insulted me, then I insulted him back.

'He was thinking ‘who are Andorra?’ Rooney was arrogant. He is very hot and aggressive. He said things to me and I said them back.

'But I insulted him in Spanish so he probably didn’t understand. It’s important for us to be physical and, in this game, I will try to do better than last year.

'Rooney’s a fighter but so am I and I’ll try to put him under the same mental and physical pressure to see whether he’s up for it.

'If England show any lack of respect they are going to suffer'
