Andy Murray in US Open boost

Andy Murray has a great chance of progressing deep into the US Open after been drawn against Argentinian Sergio Roitman in the first round of the year's final Grand Slam, which starts on Monday.

The British No1 should be too good for Roitman, the world No102, and then he can look forward to a draw that only appears to offer real trouble in the shape of Spaniard David Ferrer in the last eight.

New world No1 Rafael Nadal, the Olympic champion, will meet a qualifier in the first round, while defending champion Roger Federer starts against Maximo Gonzalez, of Argentina.

In the women's draw, Serena and Venus Williams could meet in the quarter-finals.
