Andy Murray prepares for Marcos Baghdatis challenge

Andy Murray is bracing himself to face a Marcos Baghdatis whose self-diagnosed "mind problems" are behind him when the duo battle for a place in week two of the French Open today.

The pair have not faced each other for three years, a period which has seen Murray soar into the world's top four and Baghdatis slide from a career-high eighth to outside the top 150.

He has since risen back up to 30th, winning a title in Sydney at the start of the year and reaching round three of the Australian Open before being forced to retire during his match.

Speaking after yesterday's French Open second-round win over Marcel Granollers, the 24-year-old said: "I think the last two years I suffered a bit with injuries, and with mind problems.

"I think I'm tougher than what I was before. I'm ready for any problem. I'm ready to find any solution."

Murray said: "Last year, I think, was a bad year for him. He started playing well towards the end of the year, but he was definitely struggling.

"He had a really good win over (David) Ferrer in Australia, and I think he won the tournament the week before as well.

"He's definitely doing a lot better this year.
