Flamini: injured his ankle in France B game
"I think if you did a poll of all the clubs involved in the Champions League I wouldn't be surprised if 100 per cent of them said let's get rid of it."
Flamini looks a doubt for Monday's Premier League clash against Blackburn, a game Wenger was desperate to play him in because of his physical presence in the centre of the park.
It will cause a further deterioration in Wenger's attitude towards France coach Raymond Domenech.
The two have regularly clashed over Domenech's insistence on playing Arsenal players in meaningless matches.
A source close to Wenger said: "This won't help their relationship at all.
"This game was played in Marbella, of all places, on a pig of a pitch, in front of no-one.
"Now Arsene's facing losing one of his most influential players with key matches coming up, including Manchester United in the FA Cup and Milan in the Champions League."
Perhaps wary of upsetting Wenger too much, Domenech kept another Arsenal player, Abou Diaby, on the sidelines. Domenech said: "He has a small concern with his calf. I did not want to take a risk, so he remained at rest."
But left-back Gael Clichy did make his first appearance for Domenech.
Swiss champions FC Zurich have launched a bid to sign Gunners defender Johan Djourou.
The Swiss international has made just one Carling Cup appearance for the Gunners this season.
And he spent the first half of the campaign on loan to Birmingham. Zurich tried to sign the 21-year-old last summer. They now want to take him on loan as cover for their injured captain and ex-West Ham centre-back Hannu Tihinen.
