Arsenal are preparing to make a surprise move for Liverpool striker Peter Crouch as a replacement for AC Milan-bound Emmanuel Adebayor.
Manager Arsene Wenger is also watching Germany forward Mario Gomez and Blackburn frontman Roque Santa Cruz as he prepares to sell Adebayor to Italian giants Milan, according to The Daily Mirror.
Super-agent Vincenzo Morabito told Italian TV show Studio Sport: "Arsenal are exploring the transfer market for a substitute for Adebayor.
Wanted: Peter Crouch is attracting interest from Arsenal as a replacement for Adebayor.
"The names being talked about are Peter Crouch, Blackburn striker Roque Santa Cruz and Germany forward Mario Gomez.
"What are the chances of Adebayor joining Milan? At this stage, we are at 70 per cent to 80 per cent."
Liverpool are thought to be happy to let Crouch leave Anfield for around £12million.
Portsmouth have had a £9m bid rejected, while Aston Villa want the England striker, who has one year left on his contract, as part of the deal to take Gareth Barry the other way.
Wenger paid just £7m for Adebayor two seasons ago but is understood to want around £32m for the 24-year-old.
Barcelona are also interested in Adebayor and president Joan Laporta is desperate to tie up a deal before the club election on July 6.
Winger Alexander Hleb has also been linked with a £12m move to the Nou Camp.
Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas has slammed old club Barca over their pursuit of his team-mates and told the Catalans to show more respect.
He said: "Barca should show a bit more respect to a club like Arsenal who never make noise (over transfers) and who always try to do things properly.
"Barca are in for at least seven Arsenal players and there's no need for that."
