Arsenal miss out as Boruc stays at Celtic

The highly-rated Poland international has been strongly linked with a move away from Gordon Strachan's side, with Arsenal long rumoured to be interested and AC Milan also entering the frame recently.

However the 27-year-old, whose deal had been due to expire at the end of next season, has confirmed on his personal website he will be remaining in the Scottish capital.
He told arturboruc.com: "I'm very grateful to Celtic's management for putting their trust in me.
"That is why I accepted the new contract offered to me and I have extended it for three more years."
Hoops chief executive Peter Lawwell told BBC Sport: "Talks have been ongoing for a while and we are delighted that Artur has decided to sign."
Reports surfaced in Italy this weekend linking Boruc with a move to AC Milan. According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Milan had been in touch with Boruc's representatives to discuss a possible future deal.
Milan goalkeeper Dida has been out of sorts but Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti has insisted he trusts the Brazilian.
However Milan had been repeatedly linked with goalkeepers in the past month and Boruc's name figured constantly, having impressed on Champions League duty in matches against the Italian giants.
Boruc's commitment is the second item of good news for Celtic so far this weekend after the signing of Germany international defender Andreas Hinkel from Sevilla.
