Arsenal snub AC Milan over Adebayor move but Drogba deal could be done in 'few days'

AC Milan revealed Arsenal have ignored their approach for Emmanuel Adebayor.
Vice-president Adriano Galliano claims the Italian club have sent a written request about the Togo striker’s availability, but are still awaiting a response from Emirates Stadium.
However, Milan are making better progress in their pursuit of Didier Drogba with Galliano hopeful Chelsea will set an asking price for the unsettled Ivorian within the “next few days”.
Class act: Togolese-born striker Emmanuel Adebayor holds the 2007 BBC African Footballer of the Year trophy.
Adebayor, who recently won the BBC African Football of the Year trophy, and Drogba are top of the six-time European champions’ shopping list along with Barcelona’s Samuel Eto’o, but their interest in Tottenham’s Dimitar Berbatov has cooled.
Galliano said: “We wrote to Arsenal to ask about Adebayor, but we didn’t get a reply.
"We are waiting to see whether Chelsea let us know the price tag they have put on Drogba over the next few days.
"As for Eto’o, we have spoken to the player and opened negotiations, but the figure is
high at the moment.
“Dimitar Berbatov and Mario Gomez our interest in those two has declined
and I think if a great striker arrives he will be one of the first three I mentioned.”
Fan power: A supporter of Adebayor displays a tribute to the player reading: "You are carrying high the flame of the nation".
Adebayor signed a new four-year contract last summer but 30 goals for the club last season have made him one of Europe’s hottest properties.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said last week: “If AC Milan are interested in Adebayor, they just call me and they will get the answer they deserve.”
