Arsenal's Fabregas Real flattered by Madrid talk

Cesc Fabregas admits it is an 'incredible compliment' to be wanted by Real Madrid, but insists his aim is to win the Premier League with Arsenal.

The Spanish midfielder has been a long-term target for Real president Ramon Calderon, but has repeatedly stressed his commitment to the Gunners.

He has again been asked whether he will be the subject of a renewed bid from Real at the end of the season.

Fabregas is unaware of any impending offer and outlined his wish to help Arsenal retain their lead at the top of the Premier League.

"I do not know," Fabregas told AS when asked if he will be targeted by Real in the summer. "We are in January and I do not know anything.

"The whole world knows that it makes me happy that a team like Madrid wants you. It is an incredible compliment.

"Now I am at Arsenal and I want to win the Premiership."

When asked if wearing the Real shirt would be a burden to shoulder, Fabregas replied: "I suppose that it has to weigh.

"It is the biggest club in the world and it is clear that there will be some pressure.

"But in this game I feel very calm and for me that is essential. That is invaluable. I enjoy playing."
