Englan batsman Andrew Strauss has been forced to pull out of a children's charity cricket match. Strauss, 28, was ordered by team coach Duncan Fletcher to miss the game in Regent's Park on Sunday to prepare for this summer's Tests against Bangladesh and Australia.

Comedian Frank Skinner and TV presenter Jamie Theakston are still set to play in the match, which has been organised by Capital Kids Cricket, a charity that promotes the teaching of the game in inner-London schools.

Strauss's appearance at the match had been billed as one of the highlights of the event, with 25,000 posters put up across the capital to publicise it.
