Miami nice: Chan Gailey is likely to be announced as the Dolphins' head coach on Thursday
Barring a dramatic last-minute U-turn, the Miami Dolphins will announce later today that Georgia Tech's Chan Gailey has beaten San Diego offensive co-ordinator Cam Cameron in the race to become their new head coach
The process to fill the Dolphins' head coaching vacancy following Nick Saban's departure to Alabama is likely to be over on Thursday, with Gailey leading the race.

Cameron arrived in South Florida on Wednesday evening to talk with officials for a second time and according to sources, who spoke with condition of annonimity, Cameron had a "strong second interview, which is likely to conclude on Thursday morning".
Cameron was cleared to interview after San Diego lost to New England in last Sunday's AFC divisional playoff game.
However, sources close to the franchise told Mail online Sport that Gailey is still the frontrunner.
Gailey and Cameron are said to be willing to accept many members of the remaining coaching staff from the Saban era, including defensive chief Dom Capers.
Though the Dolphins are seriously considering Capers for the top post, it is believed that owner Wayne Huizenga and president Bryan Wiedmeier are keen to appoint an offensively-minded coach.
Current offensive co-ordinator Mike Malarkey's job is under threat and it is highly likely that former Alabama head coach Mike Shula, who interviewed last weekend for the top job, is expected to land a prominent offensive staff position.
Mularkey's unit ranked a disappointing 20th in the NFL last season.
Cameron, 45, directed the NFL's top-scoring offense in 2006, led by running back and League MVP LaDainian Tomlinson, who scored 31 touchdowns.
The Dolphins are keen to name their head coach before next week's Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, where prospective draft picks are analyzed.
Should 55-year-old Gailey get the nod, he would be warmly welcomed by fans of the south Florida club.
Gailey arrived in Miami as an offensive coordinator at the start of the 2000 season after going 18-16 in his two seasons as the Dallas Cowboys head coach.
The Dolphins went to the playoffs under him in 2000 and 2001 before he left for Georgia Tech, and the Dolphins subsequently suffered five seasons without playoff football.
Gailey has a 37-27 record with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, leading the team to five consecutive postseason bowls, and is 61-38 overall in eight seasons as a college head coach.
Gailey, knows the Dolphins' staff well, having worked with Capers and Mularkey when all three were on Pittsburgh's staff in the mid-1990s. Dolphins CEO Joe Bailey, who has been a key figure in the coaching search, was a Cowboys executive when Gailey was hired as head coach.
British fans will have a chance to see the Dolphins in a regular season game at Wembley in the autumn.
Though the teams have not been oficially announced, Mail Sport On Line exclusively revealed last week that the Dolphins will play the New York Giants. The announcement will be made next week.
