Wigan are preparing a £5million bid for West Bromwich midfielder Jason Koumas, 27, to beat off competition from Birmingham, Fulham and Celtic. Wigan had a £4m offer rejected last week.

Arsenal misfit Jose Antonio Reyes, 23, is set to join Atletico Madrid for £8million having last Sunday inspired city rivals Real to the Spanish title following a season-long loan.
