Wigan are preparing a Ł5million bid for West Bromwich midfielder Jason Koumas, 27, to beat off competition from Birmingham, Fulham and Celtic. Wigan had a Ł4m offer rejected last week.

Arsenal misfit Jose Antonio Reyes, 23, is set to join Atletico Madrid for Ł8million having last Sunday inspired city rivals Real to the Spanish title following a season-long loan.
