Paul Malignaggi has offered Ricky Hatton the chance to win back his old IBF world light-welterweight title at Madison Square Garden in New York next year.

New Yorker Malignaggi, 27, makes his first title defence against Canadian Herman Ngoudjo on January 5 and then hopes to face Hatton, who is set to return to the division following his defeat by Floyd Mayweather Jnr.

Malignaggi, who is offering a multi-million-pound payday, said: "I'm ready for it whenever Ricky wants to step up to the plate."

Former undisputed middleweight champion Jermain Taylor is keen on a super-middleweight showdown with Joe Calzaghe, according to the American's promoter Lou DiBella.

However, Calzaghe's promoter Frank Warren has said he is close to agreeing a deal to fight Bernard Hopkins in New York early next year.
