The man who made the miraculous catch that led to the New York Giants winning the Super Bowl, may soon be out of work.

David Tyree, the hero of last year's Super Bowl, is going to be hard pressed to make a roster spot with the team this year.

The catch: One of the greatest plays in NFL history - but David Tyree could have played his last game as a New York Giant

It was Tyree's amazing 32-yard circus catch on New York's game-winning drive that earned him a spot in Giants' history.

However, off-season knee surgery has resulted in him not being able to take part in the club's summer mini-camp.

With Plaxico Burress and Amani Toomer certain to begin the season as the starters, and talented Steve Smith, Sinorice Moss and Mario Manningham in a fight for snaps, the business reality of the NFL takes president.

The NFC East champion Giants have also lost recently retired defensive end Michael Strahan.

They will open the new NFL season hosting division rival Washington Redskins on Thursday, September 4.

Moss will lose his spot before Tyree. Tyree is an all-pro on special teams and brings more to the team than Moss.

The Cowboys won the NFC East last year not the Giants. It's not often a team can lose the NFC East and win the Superbowl. The Dallas Cowboys blow and always will!
