FERNANDO TORRES

(Spain/Liverpool)

Has already insisted he is committed to Liverpool, while the club have denied all reports linking him with a move to Chelsea. However, the speculation refuses to go away and is sure to increase after his cool finish against Germany to win Euro ¨f¨e¨e¨l for Spain. Clearly one of the best strikers in the world and would be a major coup
if the Blues somehow managed to nab him.

DAVID VILLA

(Spain/Valencia)

Chelsea want a new striker so it's no surprise that the top scorer at Euro ¨f¨e¨e¨l, who
missed the final through injury, should come into their thinking. Valencia insist he
is not for sale, but that is just a bargaining position to get as much money as possible. Villa has many admirers, though, and competition for his signature will be fierce with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Liverpool in the hunt.

ANDRIY ARSHAVIN

(Russia/Zenit)

One of the most exciting players from the tournament and has already confirmed he
wants to leave Zenit St Petersburg. Would certainly entertain the supporters with his
skills but he has confessed to dreaming of Barcelona being his next stage. However, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich can always offer him a healthy pay packet to choose Stamford Bridge instead.

YURI ZHIRKOV

(Russia/CSKA Moscow)

Maybe the most surprising name on the list, but former manager Avram Grant revealed the club were looking to buy him while he was commentating on Israeli TV
last week. He can play on the left as a full-back or midfielder and impressed enough to be named in the official squad of the tournament. Chelsea are looking to strengthen in the wide areas and he will find a move to south west London difficult to refuse.

RAFAEL VAN DER VAART

(Holland/Hamburg)

The Dutch international has been a target for Chelsea and  Manchester United over the past ¨few months and he showed why with his creative displays this summer. He is keen to leave Hamburg and is ready to sort out his future now that the
Championships are over.
