Celtic remain strongly interested in Auxerre's Romanian international Gabriel Tamas, but are still trying to wade through the army of agents representing the defender.

The Parkhead club have already identified three other targets should the deal fall through, with French media outlets claiming that Rennes stopper John Mensah, £6.5m-rated Le Mans star Marko Basa and AS Nancy pivot Sebastien Puygrenier feature on Celtic's wish list.

Portuguese Under-21 left- back Vitorino Gabriel Antunes will also meet Roma with his agent today to try to seal his availability for a one-year loan move to Celtic Park.
