Oliver Wilson played in two matches at the Ryder Cup

Ryder Cup player Oliver Wilson has pulled out of this week’s Quinn Direct British Masters at The Belfry, saying he was worn out despite being the only player on either side at Valhalla to be involved in just two matches.

Wilson, 28, who won his foursomes with Henrik Stenson, said: ‘Yes, it was only two matches I played but they were 14-hour days and I’m still reliving it.

‘It’s been hard to switch off and so I don’t think it’s right to play.

'It's a big decision because it's my home tournament. I've made a few mistakes this year playing when I wasn't ready to play and I don't think I can give it 100% this week.'

Wilson lost his singles match on Sunday against inspired American rookie Boo Weekley.
