Auxerre coach Fernandez is keen to keep Tamas away from Celtic

Celtic's Romanian international target Gabriel Tamas will hold talks with Auxerre coach Jean Fernandez over his future on Monday.
The £4m-rated defender is wanted by the Parkhead side but, despite a fractious relationship, Fernandez will try to keep him in France.
Not my decision: Jean Fernandez said it was up to the Auxerre chairman whether Tamas stayed or went
Fernandez said: 'I don't enter into transfer negotiations. It's not my department, so if there is to be any sort of deal struck with Celtic or another club then it will be done with the president Jean-Claude Hamel, not me.'
Uncertain future: Romania defender Gabriel Tamas
Fernandez continued: 'But I do have a say on what happens with the players I have in my squad and right now Gabriel is one of them. He has three years left on his contract and unless a club pays the sort of money that the president wants then he will be our player.
'It's purely down to the president. If he gets an offer that he deems acceptable from Celtic or anyone else then I say: "Thank you and good luck" to Gabriel.
'If not then I want him in my side. I'm expecting him back for pre-season training on Monday and then I'll talk to him about his plans.'
