Baker, Bogdanovic and Baltacha among Wimbledon's wild cards

Wimbledon organizers have announced five of the eight available men's wild cards and six of the eight women for the June 23-July 6 event.

Britain's Jamie Baker and Alex Bogdanovic as well as Elena Baltacha, Naomi Cavaday, Katie O'Brien and Melanie South were among the 11 Wimbledon wild card recipients as was former semi-finalist Xavier Malisse.

Malisse, a 2002 Wimbledon semi-finalist, was limited to five tournaments last year because of an injured right wrist and has 6 wins in 15 matches in singles this season, including first-round exits at the Australian Open and his latest Masters Series tournaments in Monte Carlo and Hamburg.

The 27-year-old Belgian player has dropped from a career-high No. 19 after his best Grand Slam run at Wimbledon six years ago to No. 239 in the latest men's rankings.
