Baptista can't solve mystery of his future

Julio Baptista "hasn't got a clue" if he'll be playing for Arsenal or Real Madrid next season.

The on-loan forward is poised to return to the Bernabeu at the end of the campaign if Arsene Wenger does not take up an option to make his move permanent.

"I still have not got a clue," said Baptista. "I do not know what will happen. I may stay here at Arsenal, I do not have an answer."

Wenger will make an announcement by the end of this month at the latest on the futures of Baptista and goalkeeper Jens Lehmann, who is out of contract in the summer and weighing up whether to accept the Arsenal manager's offer of a one-year deal.

The Arsenal boss will have an unchanged squad for tomorrow's game at Emirates against Bolton, who are breathing down his side's necks in the race for fourth position and a Champions League spot.

Despite his team's precarious position, Wenger has ruled out the possibility of rushing Robin van Persie into the squad. The striker has been out with a broken foot.

"I do not think he will come back this season," said Wenger. "You never refuse a quality player when he is fit but I believe he will be very short. Too short, I think."

Bolton welcome back skipper Kevin Nolan after he missed the last two games through suspension, while defender Tal Ben Haim is expected to recover from a knock to take his place in the side.
