Bates expects Healy departure

Leeds chairman Ken Bates expects striker David Healy to complete a move away from Elland Road this summer.

Northern Ireland international Healy, who currently heads the Euro 2008 qualifying goalscoring chart, has been linked with several Barclays Premiership clubs including Fulham following Leeds' relegation to League One.

Bates said: "David Healy has scored goals consistently for Northern Ireland and you would think a player doing so well in international football will want to play at a higher level than League One."

Healy, a former Manchester United trainee, joined Leeds on a free transfer from Preston in October 2004 and was their leading goalscorer last season with 10 goals.

The 27-year-old has struggled to find his best form consistently for Leeds, but is currently Northern Ireland's all-time record marksman with an impressive 29 goals from 56 appearances.
