Benayoun now happy to stay at Upton Park

Yossi Benayoun looks set to perform an about turn by pledging his future to West Ham. The Israeli midfielder was widely expected to hand in a transfer request this summer, with the likes of Tottenham, Portsmouth and Newcastle linked to the player.

West Ham are understood to be ready to boost Benayoun's weekly wages from £23,000 to £38,500 over five years.

Portsmouth will this week unveil Udinese midfielder Sulley Muntari and former Manchester City defender Sylvain Distin before finalising terms with former Newcastle defender Titus Bramble, 25. Manager Harry Redknapp also plans to bring in Middlesbrough striker Mark Viduka.
