Heading south? Blackburn winger David Bentley celebrates scoring for Rovers
David Bentley is primed for a mega-bucks move Tottenham after the England star pulled out of Blackburn's training camp in Germany.
The wantaway winger is waiting for Rovers to agree a fee with Spurs, who have seen their initial £16.2million offer rejected.
The Daily Mirror reports that Bentley dropped out of last night's 3-1 friendly loss to Hoffenheim with a calf injury, the second time he has missed a game after not playing in Paul Ince's debut match at Macclesfield.
The unsettled winger is at odds with the club, who have taken a hard-line decision to stick by their £17m valuation.
Blackburn want their valuation met - including £3.5m-rated Paul Robinson - and expect Spurs chairman Daniel Levy to reach the figure soon.
The complicated saga has dragged on for more than a week and Bentley is showing signs of wear after pushing for a move since the end of last season.
The player has come home to wait for his part of the move to be finalised.
Bentley will also be getting treatment for his calf 'problem' - but the ideal cure appears a transfer.
Robbie Fowler came on as a sub for his Rovers debut against Bundesliga newcomers Hoffenheim, played in Austria. Benni McCarthy scored for Rovers and Morten Gamst Pedersen picked up an injury.
