Berbatov would be a hit at Old Trafford - ex-Spurs midfielder attempts to woo White Hart Lane striker
14 November 2007
Berbatov's future has been the subject of widespread speculation since the summer, given he was strongly linked with The Red Devils in the previous transfer window.
Tottenham's poor run since the start of the season has done little to dampen the speculation and at times he has looked decidedly frustrated with his situation.
Berbatov recently stated he had no desire to move away from Tottenham, but former Spurs star Carrick has thrust the Bulgarian back into focus by claiming the forward would be a great addition to the Old Trafford ranks.
"Any world-class player who is going to bring something different to the club, you always welcome that whether it's Berbatov or whoever,"Carrick told Metro.

"He's a very good player. I've watched him quite a bit because he plays for my old club and I try to watch them whenever I can.
"He had a very good season last year and people are always going to link him with big clubs like Manchester United.
"As players here what you look for is a player coming in who can bring you something different, like Berbatov certainly would.
"I'm not saying he's better than what we've got because we've got the best around up front.
"But we would welcome any world-class players who can strengthen the squad and Berbtatov certainly would do that."
